Leadership Development & Executive Coaching in Vancouver, BC
See your leadership more clearly & develop more range as a leader
Greater responsibility brings more complex decisions, relationships, expectations, and consequences. Executive coaching gives you space to step outside the demands of your role, see how you're showing up as a leader, and develop greater range in how you lead.
LEADERSHIP GETS MORE COMPLEX AS YOU GROW.
Are you doing your best and still feel like you could be leading more effectively?
As responsibility grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to balance people, performance, and priorities while managing your own well-being, mindset, and career. It's common to struggle with complexity and feel like you don't have the strategic focus you need.
A specific leadership style doesn't work equally well in every situation, and the skills that helped you succeed at one level of leadership may not be enough for the next. This is when things can gradually begin to slide. The people around you may start to take notice, even if you don't hear about it.
Leadership blind spots have consequences
Leadership patterns affect more than individual performance. They influence decisions, relationships, communication, team effectiveness, and organizational direction. If you feel consumed by the stream of challenges and problems that surface day after day, it can become difficult to see the larger environment in which those problems exist - some of these consequences will feel familiar:
Decreased visibility on information and less authentic conversations
Becoming immersed in operations and spending less time leading
Sacrificing strategic direction to push a decision through
Strained professional relationships and disconnected teams & departments
Reacting instead of responding
Increased conflict and limited leadership adaptability
Over a period of time, it's common to feel increasingly isolated within the organization. Greater responsibility doesn't always require working harder. Sometimes it requires seeing things differently.
EXECUTIVE COACHING
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT STARTS WITH AWARENESS.
I work with executives, senior managers, and emerging leaders to create space away from the demands of the workplace so we can examine how you think, communicate, make decisions, and lead.
Together, we'll explore what's working, what's getting in your way, what you may not be seeing, and where a different perspective could create new possibilities.
Leadership can become consumed by what's immediately in front of you: the next partnership, decision, organizational plan, restructuring project, or performance deadline. Executive coaching creates space to pull back, question assumptions, consider what you're not seeing, and connect issues that may appear unrelated.
You'll develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your environment, creating space to see complexity differently and think more strategically about what comes next.
DEVELOP MORE RANGE AS A LEADER.
Together, we'll work to expand your leadership range across six areas:
-

Awareness
Understand your leadership tendencies, strengths, triggers and blind spots — and how they influence the people around you.
-

Strategic Perspective & Thinking
Step outside immediate demands to see the larger picture. Examine assumptions, consider different perspectives, recognize connections, and think more deliberately about longer-term implications.
-

Emotional Intelligence
Increase awareness of your emotions and reactions, understand their influence on your behaviour, and become more intentional in how you respond to others.
-

Leadership Style
Understand your natural leadership style while developing the awareness to see how you could lead differently when people, circumstances, or challenges require it.
-

Decision-Making
Explore how you make decisions, identify where bias or your patterns may influence you, and approach complex decisions with greater clarity.
-

Communication & Relationships
Understand how you're experienced by others and strengthen your ability to communicate, listen, navigate conflict, and build meaningful professional relationships.
Having more leadership range isn't about mental toughness or putting what you feel aside. It's about looking ahead and being prepared for each moment. Your environment, responsibilities, and relationships are constantly changing. Making consistent space to examine how you're leading helps you change with them.
A DIFFERENT SPACE TO THINK
EXECUTIVE COACHING FOR WHERE YOU'RE GOING NEXT.
Executive coaching isn't limited to the C-suite. I work with established executives, directors, senior managers, and emerging leaders who want to better understand how they lead and develop the capabilities they'll need for what comes next.
The more responsibility you carry, the fewer places you may have to openly question your thinking, acknowledge uncertainty, challenge your own assumptions, or explore what's really happening. Executive coaching provides a confidential space where you don't need to have the answer before the conversation begins.
It's about the person as much as the position.
The goal isn't to become someone else's version of a great leader. It's to better understand who you are as a leader, expand how you think, and develop greater range in how you lead.
As your responsibilities, influence, and ambitions grow, that greater awareness and perspective can help you navigate what comes next with more intention.
COACHING WITH RYLAND
BSc. | MBA | MSc.IB | ICF-Trained Coach
I’m Ryland Wellwood, an ICF-trained coach with a multidisciplinary background spanning psychology, business administration, organizational dynamics, strategic partnerships, and leadership.
I know that the more responsibility you carry, the fewer places you may have to openly question your thinking, acknowledge uncertainty, challenge your assumptions, or explore what’s really happening.
My role isn’t to tell you how to lead. I’ll help you slow things down, examine how you’re thinking and responding, and see perspectives that can be difficult to access from inside the demands of your role.
Together, we’ll create a confidential space for honest conversation, thoughtful challenge, and the kind of reflection that helps you understand yourself as a leader and develop greater range in how you lead.
A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING.
-
Executive coaching is for established executives, directors, senior managers, and emerging leaders who want to better understand how they lead and develop greater range in how they communicate, make decisions, navigate relationships, and respond to complexity.
-
The focus will depend on you and your role, and whether you're staying with your current organization, making a career pivot, or looking at a career transition. Coaching may explore leadership style, strategic thinking, decision-making, resilience planning, communication, professional relationships, emotional intelligence, organizational dynamics, or the challenges that come with greater responsibility and influence.
-
Executive coaching isn't about giving you a prescribed approach to leadership or telling you what to do. It's a space to examine how you're thinking and responding, question assumptions, consider different perspectives, and develop greater awareness of yourself as a leader.
-
Executive coaching is available as a single 50-minute session for $190, a three-session package for $490, or a six-session package for $950. If you’re not sure which option is right for you, start with a free consultation to talk about what you’re looking for and whether coaching is a good fit.
